Marriage Matrimonio

The sacrament of marriage is a visible sign of God’s love for the Church. When a man and a woman are married in the Church, they receive the grace needed for a lifelong bond of unity.

The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenantal union in the image of the covenants between God and his people with Abraham and later with Moses at Mt. Sinai. This divine covenant can never be broken. In this way, marriage is a union that bonds spouses together during their entire lifetime.

The love in a married relationship is exemplified in the total gift of one’s self to another. It’s this self-giving and self-sacrificing love that we see in our other model of marriage, the relationship between Christ and the Church.

El sacramento del matrimonio es un signo visible del amor de Dios por la Iglesia. Cuando un hombre y una mujer se casan por la Iglesia, reciben la gracia necesaria para un vínculo de unidad de por vida.

El Sacramento del Matrimonio es una unión de pacto a imagen de los pactos entre Dios y su pueblo con Abraham y más tarde con Moisés en el Monte Sinaí. Este pacto divino nunca se puede romper. De esta manera, el matrimonio es una unión que une a los cónyuges durante toda su vida.

El amor en una relación matrimonial se ejemplifica en el don total de uno mismo al otro. Es este amor abnegado y abnegado lo que vemos en nuestro otro modelo de matrimonio, la relación entre Cristo y la Iglesia.
